Industry

I offer individually tailored workshops and presentations to industry professionals, theatres, production companies and arts organisations, geared for the specific audience. I also offer consultancy in creating and developing in-house protocols for working with intimacy in performance.

I have collaborated with unions and organisations, and co-created industry guidelines for working with intimate content. You can find these using the links below

Intimacy Coordinator Training Program

Higher Education

I offer workshops, lectures and presentations at Higher Education as part of any BA and MA Acting, Performing Arts and Film production courses from 1-day workshops to full-length modules. Workshops are tailored to suit the needs and level of the student cohort.

For staff, I can offer staff development days focused on familiarising both the permanent and associate staff with the role of an intimacy coordinator and understanding consent-based performance practices. I can assist in the process of integrating intimacy practice into the curriculum, and I offer mentoring as an on-going professional development tool.

I may be able to provide co-supervision for PhD students. Areas of interest/ expertise: Consent and boundaries in Actor Training; Staging intimacy; Risk and vulnerability in Creative collaborations; Compassion and coercion in Pedagogy.

I also offer consultancy in creating and developing institutional HEI policy and protocols for consent and intimacy in teaching & learning. This is developed in collaboration with Human Resources department and the relevant department heads.

Pia is currently teaching at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Before joining Guildhall, she was Senior Lecturer at University for the Creative Arts where she also developed her research on creating innovative and sustainable systems for teaching, acting and staging intimacy. Pia visits at East 15 and Wimbledon College of Arts, and she has also run intimacy workshops and short courses at
